Ontario MLS® Home Sales Remain Subdued in February as Inventory Levels Stay Above Long-Term Averages

Residential sales activity recorded through Ontario’s MLS® Systems totalled 17,141 homes on a year-to-date basis during the first two months of the year. This represents a decline of 11.8% compared to the same period in 2025, indicating that homebuyer demand remained relatively subdued at the start of the year. At the same time, the more comprehensive year-to-date average home price was $791,598, reflecting a 5.7% decrease compared to the average price recorded during the first two months of last year. Despite the slowdown in sales activity, overall housing inventory remains above long-term historical norms, providing buyers with more options and contributing to more balanced market conditions across many regions of the province.
